Tom Brady posts “I’m not sure what to do with my hands” GIF as he watches Chiefs vs Eagles Super Bowl LVII

Tom Brady is still adjusting to life after retirement.  Before the start of the 2023 Super Bowl on Sunday, the NFL icon, who announced his retirement from the sport earlier this month, joked with his Twitter followers.

Brady posted a gif of Will Ferrell as Ricky Bobby from Talladega Nights saying, “I’m not sure what to do with my hands,” soon before the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles faced off.

The 45-year-old then praised Super Bowl quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts in a subsequent tweet. He noted, “Two of the best in Pat and Jalen. Good luck to KC and Philly, can’t wait to watch.”

The funny post comes only a few days after the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback joked that he needed to “get good at” retirement. Brady discussed life after retirement on a Feb. 7 episode of his SiriusXM podcast Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald, and Jim Gray.

“You know, I’ve done it once before, so I’ve gotta figure this out and get good at this actually,” he said. “It’s all pretty new.” Still, he said he’s “excited for what’s ahead.”

“My friend says, ‘The future happens a day at a time.’ And I think with any great chapter that ends, there are other great opportunities ahead,” said Brady.

“And I look forward to exploring a lot of other parts of life that have been put aside for a time being. I’ll feel some different things I’m sure as things go along, but I’m doing great, in a great space, and excited for what’s ahead.”

The post tickled many people’s funny bones, getting over 850,000 views and over 13,000 likes in only a few hours. It also inspired a series of jokes in the comments section, including predictions that Brady will resign (again) before the second quarter.

There are also several brands, including YUM, +0.97% Pizza Hut and Anheuser-Busch’s BUD, +1.26% Natural Light beer tried to ride Brady’s coattails by recommending he fill his hands with their products. But what exactly is Brady up to? As part of his $375 million Fox contract, he will begin working as an NFL broadcaster in 2024.
