The NFL world rises to salute Tom Brady for one last time as he retired on Wednesday. The GOAT of the NFL had retired earlier last year on February 1st. However, he returned to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after a forty-day break.
His return to the game did not impress many people, including his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, who filed a divorce after seeing her husband getting back to the football field instead of keeping his promise and giving quality time to the family. Many sources, including ESPN’s Jeff Darlington, now claim that it was his divorce that forced Tom Brady to retire once more.
What did Jeff Darlington say about Tom Brady retiring?
After Tom retired, many people wondered why Brady called it a day once again. Jeff thinks he has the answer and states on the First take,
“Take the human element of this past year into consideration. During the most hyper-focused time of his life, which is in-season, he went through the stress of a divorce — a traumatizing divorce to him. So, now he stepped back. He decided, ‘You know what, I need to recharge. I need to rebuild my life and get myself reenergized,’ and not for the football field, but just in general.”

Darlington might be correct with this one. However, there is more to the story. After his divorce, Tom did not receive any support from his teammates or fans. According to other sources, his teammates made fun of him behind his back. While fans only wanted to get victories out of the legend instead of thinking about what he was going through at that time, he was physically and mentally tired.
The exhaustion was visible on Tom’s face while he played and even when he was featured in different interviews and podcasts. Nonetheless, TB12 did the right thing by retiring as he is headed towards something new.
What an awesome guy…God love him and make his heart whole…
