After an absence of three years, former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo will fight once more tomorrow. No one else but his former foe Demetrious Johnson has provided Triple C with fresh inspiration prior to his return battle.
The former flyweight and bantamweight champion will face Aljamain Sterling, the current bantamweight champion, in the main event of UFC 288 on May 7 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, in an attempt to reclaim his bantamweight title.

In what way did Demetrious Johnson inspire Henry Cejudo?
The final time MMA fans saw Henry fight was in UFC 249 when he defeated Dominick Cruz to retain his bantamweight title. In 2018, Triple C defeated Demetrious Johnson to claim the flyweight title as well. Mighty Mouse is undoubtedly one of the finest flyweights to ever enter the octagon.
Yesterday, the former flyweight champion of the UFC displayed his MMA skills once more. In a highly anticipated ONE Championship event, Johnson defeated Adriano Moraes in a trilogy battle and won by unanimous decision. The eagerly awaited mixed martial arts event took place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
While successfully defending his flyweight title 11 times throughout the course of his nearly ten-year career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Johnson set multiple UFC records. Given that Cejudo was DJ’s final opponent in the UFC, it makes sense that a victory for Mighty Mouse the day before Henry’s comeback would only motivate Henry to become once again a champion.
“Honor to call you one of my greatest rivals and friends Mighty Mouse. You’re a GOAT for life. AND TOMORROW IT’S MY TURN!” Cejudo tweeted.

As previously stated, Henry, a former two-division champion, isn’t overly concerned about winning tomorrow’s bantamweight title fight. The 36-year-old fighter’s ultimate objective for making a comeback is to face Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight belt in order to become a three-division champion.
