Top Dolla explains how top rope botch saved his life
Top Dolla botched a dive over the top rope and the failed attack was so funny that it even became viral on social media with WWE universe giving him the “Flop Dolla” nickname. Accidents on WWE is not uncommon and sometimes some lucky actions save superstars from a potential injury.
A fan of Dolla, recently posted a clip of his dive on Twitter/X on December 16, and noted that it was the first year since the botch, where the former footballer had this moment on “WWE Friday Night SmackDown” a full year ago.
The 33-year-old superstar responded on Twitter/X, expressing gratitude for the botched move. He revealed that it helped him discover he has Type II diabetes, stating that the incident almost cost him his life and, ironically, ended up saving it.
The Caption read, “The botch saved my life. I made that dive a dozen times before, legs felt off but I didn’t think about it. After I failed I went to the doc & found out I had Type II diabetes & my blood sugar was 626. I almost lost my life & was about to lose both feet. The botch saved my life.”
This botch occurred during a three-way bout against Ivar & Erik of the Viking Raiders and Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde of Legado Del Fantasma. Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis and Top Dolla teamed up together to take on the others on the December 16, 2022 edition of SmackDown.
When will Top Dolla wrestle again after WWE?
After being released in September 2023 reportedly due to budget cuts, the 33-year-old rapper-wrestler has garnered strong support from fans. It’s highly probable that he’ll make a comeback in wrestling, but not with WWE. Currently under a 90-day non-compete clause in his WWE contract, he will officially become a free agent after December 20.
Dolla has been announced for a match at GCW’s Look At Me event against Cha Cha Charlie on January 26th, 2024. In subsequent replies, he discussed his health issues, mentioning that he is now stable and no longer requires insulin injections for diabetes. Additionally, he shared that he has successfully lost weight, currently sitting at 330 lbs again, and expressed how great he feels.
