Bayern Munich is now in the race to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham with Manchester United facing competition for his signing.
Harry Kane has been widely linked with a summer departure from Tottenham Hotspur. The England captain is the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
In his senior career, he has yet to win a trophy. Kane is already 29 years old, therefore the time is running out for him. As a result, the attacker may seek to join a club that will provide him with more possibilities to win trophies.
With the transfer window open, clubs have already begun their summer shopping in full swing. Harry Kane is now being pursued by a number of clubs both in and outside of England.
Manchester United face stiff competition from Bayern Munich
Manchester United’s top transfer target this summer is Kane. Manager Erik Ten Haag wants a striker as a priority signing and prefers Kane to other strikers like Victor Osimhein. Kane is a proven Premier League player and can quickly adapt to the team’s dynamics.
But the Premier League giants still haven’t managed to close the deal. The club’s takeover situation has meant that they haven’t been able to put in a proper bid to Tottenham.
FC Bayern have submitted an official bid for Harry Kane. Fixed fee close to €70m plus add-ons, not enough to convince Tottenham. It was rejected 🚨⚪️🔴 #FCBayern

And now German champions Bayern Munich have entered the race. Renowned Bild journalist Christian Falk has reported that Harry Kane has now agreed personal terms with the club. The Bavarians have been in close talks with the family of the striker who will handle his departure.
The Bundesliga champions also sent in a bid for the player, with a fixed fee of €70m, along with add ons. But Tottenham has instantly rejected this offer, as they believe him to be worth more than that. Bayern could respond with a second bid in the coming days.
This is worrying news for United, who will hope to be able to enter the race as soon as possible.
Tottenham tempted to sell Harry Kane outside England
Kane’s contract runs out in 2024 and he is yet to renew his contract there. As such, Kane can leave for free next year and Tottenham may want to cash in on him if possible. But Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy may not let him leave easily. Kane’s transfer price could be for a fee above the 100 million mark.
Tottenham also prefers to sell Kane abroad rather than selling to another English club. This is because they don’t want to want to let him leave for a direct rival.
Currently, along with Bayern Munich, other foreign clubs such as Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain are also interested in the player. Madrid recently lost Karim Benzema for free and was strongly rumored to go for the England captain. But the recent availability of Kylian Mbappe put a halt to talks. PSG could also go in for the player in the case Mbappe leaves, but even so, they are still interested in him from before.
Previously it was thought Kane doesn’t want to move abroad and wanted to stay in the Premier League. This is because he wants to keep chasing the Premier League goalscoring record set by Alan Shearer.
But it seems the striker has finally realized it is time to move on, and he has picked German giants Bayern Munich as his next destination.
