Real Madrid FC is renowned for making significant signings throughout its history, ensuring the team remains highly competitive. The Los Blancos hold the record for the most Champions League titles in football history, a testament to their sustained success.
Notably, high-profile signings like CR7, Bale, Kaka, Vinicius, Tchouameni, and the recent addition Jude Bellingham consistently contribute to the club’s success. Despite playing as a midfielder, Bellingham currently leads La Liga in scoring, indicating that Real Madrid has successfully secured the star player they’ve long pursued.
Mbappe’s contract situation and uncertainty surrounding PSG’s future
Kylian Mbappa, the 25-year-old French left winger, is reportedly set to join Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window. According to the latest transfer news, the Frenchman whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, will not renew his contract with PSG and would rather sign for the Spanish giants as he dreamt of playing for the club since childhood.
The transfer saga surrounding the player and the club has been in continuation for the last few years after it was revealed that the French star is a Cristiano Ronaldo fan and would love to play for the club where his idol reached his career peaks.
Last winter window, Real Madrid made a huge transfer offer to PSG for the Frenchmen but the French club rejected the offer. Later it was finalized that the player wouldn’t renew his contract and would join Real Madrid last summer only. But, on the contrary, the player renewed the contract for one more season with the club and shattered all of Real Madrid fans’ hearts.
This time, though the case seems different with the player and the club clear in their views. Reportedly PSG has already started looking for replacements and has identified AC Milan winger Rafael Leao as a suitable candidate. On the other hand, the contract talks between Real Madrid and Mbappe have not concluded with the club not willing to offer more salary than what they planned to do last season.
Despite these concerns, the signing of a world-class player without any transfer fee involved is remarkable in itself, regardless of the amount offered to the player. However, some pundits and fans have raised concerns about Vinicius Junior’s position at the club. Both players are considered world-class, play on the same side of the wing, and neither would be content with a spot on the bench.
Vinicius Junior’s future in question
Recent reports have suggested that Vinicius Jr.’s future might be up in the air if the Frenchman arrives in the summer transfer window. In the latest transfer news, it has been claimed by the SPORT that the Spanish club will sell Vinicius Junior if they can finally sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer transfer window.
Even though both players prefer the same position on the pitch, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has demonstrated his ability to make players excel even in different positions, as seen with Bellingham this season. It is plausible that Vini could achieve the same with Mbappe upon his arrival, possibly deploying him in a more central role to maximize his goal-scoring abilities.
The Frenchman has previously played as a center-forward for his current team, PSG, under Luis Enrique whenever required. Even the thought of an already star-studded team signing Kylian Mbappe could scare off any other club in the world.
