Real Madrid is one of the greatest clubs not only in Spain but in the world. It is only reasonable that a club like that will only sign the best players and one such player on Madrid’s radar is Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid has been after the French striker since 2021 and each year the player rejects the club and decides to stay at PSG.
Madrid’s main striker Karim Benzema left the club this season to join the Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad. The Spanish club is desperate for a striker and they have started to look for other options if Kylian Mbappe’s scenario delays again next summer.
Real Madrid considering Julian Alvarez as backup to Kylian Mbappe
Although Karim Benzema’s absence has had little to no effect on Ancelotti’s squad the team still needs a pure number 9. Jude Bellingham has taken on the goal-scoring role for now but Kylian Mbappe’s addition will make them unstoppable. The player has been linked with a transfer to Los Blancos since the summer of 2021 but every year the transfer falls through and the Frenchman ends up staying at PSG. Real Madrid will try to sign him once again in next year’s transfer window but the club is also looking for backup plans in case the transfer fails again.

Manchester City player Julian Alvarez might just be the piece that Carlo Ancelotti is missing. The Argentine won the World Cup alongside Lionel Messi in 2022 and he also won the treble with Manchester City. Currently, the player is not Manchester City’s first choice for a striker as they have Erling Haaland in their squad but things could change for him if he decides to make a move to Madrid. Joining the Spanish club will not only get him the team’s main squad but he will play alongside young prodigies like Camavinga, Vini Jr., Jude Bellingham etc.
Update on Kylian Mbappe’s transfer situation
Kylian Mbappe is not on good terms with his club. The player was banished from first-team training and was only allowed to join his teammates a few weeks ago. He was also not on the club’s pre-season tour. His relationship with his club’s managerial team has also been strained. Reports claim that they threatened to put him on the bench till the end of his contract.
Kylian Mbappe will be free to sign a contract with any of the clubs once his contract expires and PSG won’t be able to stop him. It is unlikely that he will sign a new contract and the club is aware of that. Madrid and PSG might negotiate with each other for the Frenchman’s move to Spain or the Los Blancos can wait for Mbappe’s contract to end and sign him as a free transfer. It is risky for Madrid to wait for his contract expiration as lucrative offers from the Middle East might lure the player away.
