UFC is becoming more expensive as it grows in popularity. In a recent update, it has been confirmed that from 2023, there will be a new pay-per-view price for UFC events which will be applicable from UFC 283. Fans of this promotion are going crazy on Twitter regarding this issue.
Journalist Adam Stern from Sports Business Journal has confirmed the price hike on Twitter where he stated:
“UFC PPVs on ESPNPlus will increase in price from $74.99 this year to $79.99 next year, starting with #UFC283 in January, per Disney. Disney says the move reflects “the value of ESPN+ and the popularity and quality of UFC events,” and that it doesn’t impact ESPN+ sub price.“

Unbelievable. Back in January 2019 I could buy a UFC PPV for $50 now 4 years later it’s $80 dollars. A price increase of 60% over 4 years is outright ridiculous. UFC 279 from earlier this year was barely worth $15 https://t.co/uriZji5rEW

I stopped buying #UFC PPV's when they increased the price from $60 to $75 but now they're bumping it to $80. Who the hell is gonna cough up $80?! What a joke. I remember when it was $40. It's definitely not twice as good as it was back then lol not sure it's half as good!

This will be the 4th time since 2019 that ESPN has increased the price of the UFC PPV. Price was $59.99 in 2019 and now will be 79.99; a solid 25% increase over 4 years. Rather ridiculous and wonder how much has gone to the fighters.

As someone who has purchased pretty much all @ufc PPV for years, continual increases in price are bogus. While I doubt it even matters to folks like @danawhite, I think it's time to stop supporting. 🙁
Don't understand why they think this is good idea. Should be lowering price.

I get it and it's ESPN's call, but one of the big selling points about a UFC PPV compared to a boxing PPV was that the cards were both deeper and the price was much cheaper.
The cards are still deeper but now they're as expensive as a typical boxing PPV.

Regarding the price hike, what does the president of UFC say? As his recent statement is yet to come let’s take a look at what he said last year when ppv price was increased.
“We don’t have any say in that. We gave the pay-per-views to ESPN, so yeah, that’s their decision. You know how I feel about that stuff. I don’t love when prices get raised, but it’s not my decision. It’s theirs.”
