Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins’ star wide receiver, has recently accused his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs, of benefiting from referees’ decisions in two instances. The Chiefs recently won a game against the New York Jets after lots of struggle.
However, Tyreek Hill believes that they won because of referees and he even made the claim that the credit for their coveted win in the last season also goes to the referees of the team.
Tyreek Hill claims Chiefs got saved by referees
Tyreek Hill claims that the Chiefs won against the Jets because of the referees’ help. He was referring to the point during the game when a questionable holding penalty was called against Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner.
This penalty negated a potential interception by Michael Carter II, allowing the Chiefs to maintain possession and run out the clock for a 23-20 win.
“The Chiefs got saved like that last year for real though, against the Eagles in the Super Bowl if we being for real,” the WR said.
Hill also mentioned the team’s last season’s Super Bowl win, saying that the same thing happened during that time as well. During the Super Bowl game against the Eagles, Eagles cornerback James Bradberry was called for holding on a third-down situation.
Many considered this penalty questionable or wrong, but it was upheld, leading to Kansas City’s Super Bowl victory on a field goal by Harrison Butker in the closing seconds.
For a long time, this debate was going on that this penalty was wrong and the team didn’t deserve that win and now Hill has also made the same accusation that the Super Bowl ring doesn’t belong to to Patrick Mahomes but to the referees.
He also mentioned that the Chiefs were saved maybe because Taylor Swift was there.
“Then they come back and get saved in the Jets game. Maybe because Taylor Swift was in the building. I don’t know what’s going on.. hey! whatever Kelce is doing, I know you’re helping out the NFL.”
In the end, the former Chiefs wide receiver isn’t ready to praise the Chiefs for their victory against the Jets or give credit to their good playing skills for their win.
Hill slapped with $7000 fine
Tyreek Hill, who signed a four-year contract worth $120 million with the Dolphins, was fined $7,000 for not wearing socks during a game. This incident occurred in the Dolphins’ game against the Denver Broncos, where Hill had a standout performance with nine catches for 157 yards.
The wide receiver shared that he was getting IV and after that, he was getting later for the game that’s why he wasn’t wearing the socks.
“I was getting an IV and I didn’t want to be late for the play. So I didn’t have time to put on my socks.”
However, the league still fined him and he’ll have to pay $7,000 for such a small mistake. Till now, Tyreek Hill is playing very well with the Dolphins and fans are looking forward to what he’s going to show next.
