Manchester City is trying to do everything to convince Bernardo Silva to stay at the club after the player received interest from both PSG and the Saudi Pro League.
Bernardo Silva had a great season with Manchester City, where he played a vital role in winning a historic treble. The Portuguese midfielder is no doubt one of the best players in the world. As a result, the player has now received offers from abroad to leave the club.
Both the Saudi Pro League and Paris Saint Germain want to acquire the services of the player, but Manchester City is reluctant to let him leave.
Manchester City determined to retain Silva
The Saudi Pro League, continuing the streak of luring soccer stars to the desert country has also offered Silva the chance to play for them. He has reportedly been offered a €80 million per season deal at Saudi club Al-Hilal. While City is one of the richest clubs in the world, even they can’t offer such an outrageous sum due to UEFA’s FFP rules.
Bernardo Silva has not made any final decision on his future yet. PSG consider Bernardo priority target and Saudi clubs are pushing, Barça now difficult due to FFP. 🇵🇹

Decision sill be up to Bernardo — but negotiations with Man City won’t be easy as they still hope to keep him. pic.twitter.com/cS7uzAKCwd
Silva also has admirers in Europe, with both Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain fighting to convince the player. Barcelona will have to struggle a lot, as they are battling FFP as well and struggling to register players. Paris Saint Germain on the other hand is prepared to do everything to bring the player there. The French club wants to bring Silva as the replacement for Lionel Messi who left this summer.
To battle all this competition, Manchester City is planning to give an improved offer to the player. According to The Times, a new deal will be offered which will have much better terms than the current one. They will also try to tie him down to a longer contract as his current one expires in two years.

It is not surprising that they want to keep him even though he can be sold for an expensive fee. The Portuguese midfielder is currently one of the best in his position and in his prime years. He helped the team several times, including scoring an incredible brace against Real Madrid in the UCL semis back in April. The exit of captain Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona also means that City will be more keen to hold on to Silva to continue their success.
When did Bernardo Silva move to Manchester City?
Bernardo Silva announced himself on the big stage back in 2017 after a successful UCL run with Monaco. Manchester City then secured him for a €50 million fee. Since then, he has become a valuable part of the team.
He has racked up 306 appearances for the club, where he has an astounding goal count of 55 and 59 assists. His versatility in playing between midfield and attack and his superior passing ability make him a perfect cog in Pep Guardiola’s Man City team. But his dribbling is considered his best aspect and what makes him different from other players.
Silva has five Premier League trophies with City, along with the recent UCL title won. He has also won 4 Carabao Cup trophies, 2 Community Shields, and two FA Cup trophies.
Whether Silva stays in Manchester or not will be seen this summer. But there is doubt that every team in the world would be happy to have a player like Bernardo Silva.
