UEFA Champions League matchday 4 preview: key matches, fixtures, timings, points tables so far

Europe’s most elite club competition, the UEFA Champions League resumes this week as the top clubs from the continent return to action in matchday 4 fixtures lined up for midweek clashes. The group stages are nearing their conclusion, and the competition to make it through to the next round is getting tougher.

The past three matchdays have showcased some thrilling contests among the clubs competing in the competition. The upcoming games promise to be mouth-watering in the round of fixtures that are set to kick off. Let’s take a look at the key clashes and tables so far this season. 

UEFA Champions League fixtures, timings

The first round of matchday 4 fixtures is set to be played on November 7th, Tuesday, featuring clubs from four groups: F, H, E, and G. The remaining teams from Groups A, B, C, and D will contest on November 8th, Wednesday. All eight groups have been tightly contested so far, with big names such as Real Madrid, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, and defending champions Manchester City. Borussia Dortmund vs Newcastle United (18:45) CET

In the first match of the MD 4, Bundesliga runner-up Dortmund will host Newcastle United the first match from Group F at Signal Iduna Park. Newcastle have pulled an upset against PSG at home 4-1 win. Both the sides have same points and number of wins; thus, whoever wins this fixture will have an edge to make it to the next round. 

Shakhtar Donetsk vs FC Barcelona (18:45) CET 

In Group H, FC Barcelona will take on Shakhtar at Volksparkstadion, Hamburg their allocated temporary home ground. Xavi’s side is unbeaten in this UCL Campaign another win will seal their place in the next round. while the hosts will eye on chances to finish second by getting 3 points in a challenging fixture. 

AC Milan vs Paris Saint Germain (21:00) CET

Milan will welcome French champions after losing 3-1 in the first leg in Paris at San Siro the Italian side is set to seek revenge as they are already out of the competition with no hope of going through the Round of 16. Meanwhile, PSG’s potential 3 points will secure their spot in the knock-outs. 

Manchester City vs Young Boys  (21:00) CET

The treble winners and reigning champions, the mighty Manchester City, will host Swiss champions Young Boys at their home ground, Etihad. Guardiola’s City team has nearly sealed their spot in the knockout stage with an unbeaten run. A win against the bottom-placed visitors will knock them out of the competition.

Manchester United vs Copenhagen  (21:00) CET

A struggling Man United side in the competition will make a trip to Parken Stadium, Denmark in a must-win fixture after losing the first two fixtures against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray. However, a crucial home win against the same opposition credited to the last-minute penalty-saving heroics of Andre Onana to keep their hope alive in the competition.
