Justin Gaethje was scheduled to fight Charles Olivera at UFC 274 for Lightweight Championship. Unfortunately, Olivera came overweight at 155.5 for the 155-weight class. So, he is stripped of the belt and vacates the title.
Therefore, only Justin Gaethje will be eligible to grab the title. Olivera’s overweight has changed the main event. However, there are other big stars that will be played on the undercard. So, you don’t need to worry if you have already bought the PPV or planning to buy it.
At UFC 274, there will be another lightweight main card between Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson.
Although there will be no fight between Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira, it will not harm knowing their purse.
Charles Oliveira vs Justin Gaethje Purse, Payouts, Salaries
Usually, UFC doesn’t release the exact fight purse for most of the fights. Hence, we analyze the previous payouts to find the expected salaries.
In his last fight against Justin Poirier at UFC 269, Charles Olivera made $492,000. Hence, Olivera was expected to earn around $500,000 from the fight.
On the other hand, Gaethje earned $356,000 against Chandler in November. So, he was expected to earn around $400,000. However, Gaethje might take this amount of money as he can take the title without fighting Olivera. However, it is up to him, and we are yet to get any update from UFC.
However, the payouts don’t include any deduction for some classified items such as licenses, insurance, and taxes. In addition to that, PPV cuts are also not calculated here. Further, the PPV payout and other incentive payments will be added later after the event is finished. Hence, they might have earned more, which we will update upon the disclosure from the organizer.
Note: This post was pieced together from various news sources and authors, which is assumed to be reliable. As soon as the final payout is disclosed, we will update the data.
