UFC Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is set to defend his title for the 6th time as he gears up to face number 2 ranked Jared Cannonier at UFC 276.
Israel Adesanya is one of the most outspoken individuals in the UFC roster. The Nigerian born New Zealander is a class apart in the Middleweight division. While many have come to dethrone him, he has so far reigned supreme without much turbulence. No fighter has seemed to close to taking the belt away from The Last Stylebender. As he sits at the top of the mountain, Adesanya is getting ready to face the potential usurper- Jared Cannonier.
Cannonier, who is currently ranked number 2 in his current division, has experiences in multiple UFC divisions. Coming off a devastating knockout victory over Derek Brunson, the 38-year old will be looking to upset the odds as he tries to do the improbable and take out Adesanya. He will, of course, be wary of the task in hand as he is planning to do something no one has been able to do so far.
UFC 276 also has some other stellar fights. With the Featherweight title on the line as Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski and Max Holloway face each other inside the octagon for the third time. Volkanovski, who has beaten Holloway twice already, is somewhat comparable to Adesanya in the sense that he is also considered untouchable in the division. The Australian has been a very dominant champion, and will be looking to finish the rivalry once and for all. The Australian is undefeated in the UFC, but Holloway will leave no stone unturned this third time around as he looks to regain the title he once held so dominantly.
Besides these two title fights, there are some other exciting contests in the card, as fighter such as Sean Strickland, Sean O’Malley, Robbie Lawler, Alex Pereira, Pedro Munhoz, Bryan Barberena, Jim Miller, Donald Cerrone look to cement their presence during the UFC 276 event.
