Demetrious Johnson, one of the most decorated mixed martial artists, is now looking to enter a different world of fighting. DJ, after accomplishing everything in the UFC’s flyweight division, is now on the list of GOATS of the UFC.
Currently, the ONE flyweight champion is trying to make different moves in boxing. Johnson recently claimed becoming a champion in mixed martial arts is easy now that he is getting into different challenges. Now the talks are not just between him and an MMA fighter but between someone who is trying to make a big name in the boxing world.
Demetrious Johnson wants to spar with KSI and Jake
DJ, at the age of 37, defended the ONE flyweight championship title against Adriano Moraes, showcasing why his skills are still up to the mark. The former UFC champion is now taking a step into bigger gloves fighting, where no kicks are allowed but only hands do the talking. The MMA champion showed the desire to compete in the boxing ring after all the rumors, completely shutting down any hints of retiring.
Target for Demetrious Johnson are two internet sensations where one is on the verge of becoming the world boxing champion and the other has already had four wins in three years of boxing.
As per Demetrious Johnson’s analysis, KSI is his first choice to fight in the boxing ring. He is ready for sparring sessions with both boxers. The 37-year-old has already shown his interest in boxing and made lots of videos on his reaction to the boxing bouts, and this is where he confessed his desire, “I would love to spar KSI or Jake Paul.”
Both Jake Paul and KSI have tough aspects, as per many MMA experts, where Jake is very active with his boxing and KSI has already fought three times earlier this year.
Demetrious Johnson once said Jake Paul is “good at boxing”
Recently, Jake Paul secured the victory against André August, and DJ kept his eye on the match-up, uploading his reaction in a video. Jake Paul’s knockout victory was an impressive performance for the former UFC champion, who praised Paul for his boxing ability.
The Mighty Mouse praised “Problem Child” saying, “The question everybody’s going to ask is: Is Jake Paul good at boxing? The answer is yes, he is good at boxing.”
But later, he also questioned, if Paul is good enough to become a world-class boxer. His answer, however, was not in the affirmative, “Is he a world-class fighter? Absolutely not.”
