UFC legend Conor McGregor hints at entering the USADA testing pool ahead of potential bout with Michael Chandler

Conor McGregor, who has been eagerly awaited for his return to the UFC, has been absent from the octagon for over two years. Many had hoped that 2023 would mark his comeback, but despite his rigorous training, the Irishman has been unable to secure a fight, much to the frustration of his fans.

However, there may be good news on the horizon, as the former UFC champion has dropped hints about joining the USADA testing pool, possibly in preparation for a bout with Michael Chandler.

McGregor was supposed to make his UFC comeback in December at UFC 296. However, the Irishman failed to enter the USADA testing pool on time and as a result he won’t be featuring at UFC 296.

McGregor needs to be in the pool for six months to meet the eligibility requirements for competition. This timeline should align well with a potential return in April, which coincides with the rumored schedule for UFC 300.

Amidst all the speculation and uncertainty, most fight fans simply want to witness his return to the cage. Hopefully, this marks the initial phase on the path to making that a reality.

Update on Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler bout

Given the lack of clarity surrounding the Irishman’s status with USADA, a potential fight date for McGregor isn’t confirmed. With Michael Chandler being forced to play a waiting game, fans have begun to wonder if ‘Iron’ has a deadline for his potential Mystic Mac fight.

Chandler said that he doesn’t know when Conor will enter the USADA testing pool. Chandler is aware of the fact that every fighter is supposed to enter the pool six months before the fight.

Michael is hoping that it’ll be UFC 300 where McGregor and him will enter the Octagon. Chandler further went on to say that he’s just a foot soldier, waiting for that phone call.
