Jon “Bones” Jones has issued a tweet that he will be waiting until September to face the former champion and arguably the GOAT of Heavyweight, Stipe Miocic in the octagon. So, there could be a potential Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic fight later this year!
Stipe is saying that he will be at his absolute peak in September. I’m disappointed but patient, I want the heavyweight goat at his absolute best. I’ll wait until September. No excuses

The greatest light-heavyweight to ever do it, Jones has recently moved up a division to compete at heavyweight. He was rumored to be directly challenging for the title vs Francis “the predator” Ngannou, but that fight has seemingly been put on the back burner. Jones now wants to face Stipe Miocic and has announced his eagerness to wait.
Notably, Stipe lost his heavyweight crown to the current champion, Francic Ngannou. Miocic was knocked out cold by the predator.
Stipe had once defended his belt against a much greener Ngannou back in 2018. Miocic used his superior wrestling to wear Ngannou out and grind out a decision win. But Francis Ngannou was a much-improved beast the second time around.
Francis nullified any take-down attempts from Miocic and eventually caught him with one of his signature blows. Ngannou earned his title shot after knocking out the likes of Curtis Blaydes, Alastair Overeem, and Cain Velasquez one after the other!
The heavyweight scene was looking quite bare as Ngannou had effectively cleaned out the division! The Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic fight could potentially be contested for the interim heavyweight title as well! This might occur due to the current champ Ngannou going through knee surgery in March 2022.
The world is eagerly waiting for the return of Johnny Bones as his last fight was more than 2 years ago!
Jones has been very active on social media despite his absence from the cage. Not only that, but the former LHW champ has also kept up with his controversial past.
Most recently, he was charged with domestic violence and abuse against his long-time partner and the mother of his children. She has since left him.
With Miocic still far away from being ready, the fans must wait just a little bit longer to see arguably the greatest fighter in UFC history finally return to the octagon. Will Jones be able to find success at heavyweight? Or will Stipe spoil the party? The answer, according to Jones will reveal itself in September of 2022 when Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic finally happens!
