Namajunas made the claims ahead of facing Carla Esparaza in UFC 274.
âIâm clearly the best, but itâs just a question of if Iâm the greatest in the division of all time? I think this is a huge step towards that for me. Thatâs the big test.âI used to hate the term legacy, but now I have a different perspective on what it really means,â said the UFC women’s strawweight champion.
Namajunas earned and defended her title against Zhang Weilli in their first and subsequent rematch respectively! Rose is a two-time champion.
She lost her first title reign after getting brutally slammed by Jessica Andrade.
From her loss to Esparza in an Ultimate Fighter finale that doubled as a title fight as a 22-year-old to her stunning victory over Jedrzejczyk to win the belt, Namajunas has retained a sense of psychological clarity that has allowed those on the outside to understand her growth as a person and martial artist and now set to be one of the GOATs of female MMA if she can beat Esparza in the rematch that has been 8 years in the making!
