Belal Muhammad extends win streak to 8 fights in a row after victory over Vicente Luque, Dedicates emotional win to the people of Palestine.
Belal “Remember the name” Muhammad has earned a decision victory over Vicente Luque at UFC Vegas 51. Muhammad avenged his knockout loss to Luque from way back in UFC 205. In his post fight octagon interview, Belal dedicated his win to the struggling people in his native home land of Palestine. “That’s the real fight” claimed an emotional Muhammad. Belal was born and raised in Chicago to Palestinian parents. He has been a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause throughout his professional career.
The current number 6 ranked welterweight is bound to move up in the rankings after defeating Luque, who is ranked 5. Luque and Muhammad both had impressive winning streaks going in to this fight. With “The Silent Assassin” Luque racking up back to back wins against octagon veterans Tyrone Woodley and Micheal Chiesa. Belal Muhammad was fresh off a victory over former 2 time UFC title challenger Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. This win puts Muhammad at the very top of the welterweight division.
Now, Welterweight has some tantalizing matchups waiting to happen with the seemingly unstoppable Khamzat Chimaev on the rise and with active champion in Kamaru Usman showing no signs of stopping any time soon. Belal’s most recent victory extends his win streak to 8 and potentially puts him very close to the title picture.
