Bo Nickal, an American mixed martial artist known for his articulate wrestling skills called out Khamzat Chimaev, the Chechen welterweight/middleweight who currently ranks #4 in the UFC rankings.
Khamzat Chimaev and Bo Nickal are both known for their deadly wrestling skills in which the former boasts a decorated career. He is the 3 times Swedish national champion. The latter is even more decorated with him being the NCAA champion, Dan Hodge trophy champion, and free wrestling prowess.
Khamzat Chimaev’s wrestling is slammed by UFC prospect Bo Nickal
Bo Nickal was recently a guest on Michael Bisping`s “Believe you me” podcast wherein he expressed his desire to fight Khamzat in the octagon by issuing a bold statement “His wrestling is trash, I wouldn’t even say mid”.
Bo believes “At the end of the day, whatever I say about him or his wrestling skills, we are going to fight at some point”, although it is very clear that Bo does not think that Khamzat`s wrestling is good but he still had the level of respect for him throughout the interview.
“I will show that there are levels to this game”, Bo added when asked about the potential fight with Khamzat.

On being asked whether Khamzat gets through Paulo Costa, Bo had this to add “I think it’s going to be a good fight man, I think he probably will get through Costa, it’s a different ball game when you go from 170 to 185”, Khamzat reportedly gained some 15 pounds of muscle in order to be in the same weight class as Paulo.
When is Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight?
Khamzat last fought on Sunday, 11 September 2022 at UFC 279. Khamzat was rumored to fight at least 3 times within this time frame but they all fell through. Dana White, UFC president issued a public statement stating that Khamzat had cramps and had been advised by his doctors to avoid gaining weight.
But the wait is finally over, Khamzat is set to fight Paulo Costa in the octagon on 22 October in UFC 294. Both Costa and Khamzat are experienced fighters with the former having a record of 14-2-0 and the latter with a record of 12-0-0.
Khamzat may be set to battle it out with Paulo Costa in the Octagon, but these comments by Bo Nickal could distract him from the fight as he has a history of getting into feuds with different fighters.
