Francis Ngannou was truly one of the most mythical fighters in the UFC. From having nothing and being a refugee to knocking out the best fighters in the world, the legacy left by the Cameroonian is no short of a fairytale. Unfortunately, we may not see the knockout artist compete for the UFC for much longer.
After becoming champion, Francis began complaining about his payment issues. He fought his former teammate Cyril Gane for a title defense in UFC 270. Many did not expect the champion to retain his title but the ‘Predator’ managed to pull through. But he only earned a meager $600,000.
Where might Francis Ngannou go after retiring?
Francis shared some pictures with his family on new years eve with the caption, “Starting the best year ever!!!” In a few of the pictures, one of his relatives can be seen wearing a PFL t-shirt,
Recently, Jake Paul made a move to MMA by joining and buying a stake in the PFL. Jake will now compete in a new division called the ‘Super Fight’ division. Per the rules, any fighter competing in this weight class will earn 50% of the PPV money. Francis knows that he can draw huge crowds so the 50% bonus might be lucrative for him.
PFL also hosts an annual tournament where the winner gets to take home prize money of $1 million. This is twice the amount Ngannou made during his fight against Cyril Gane. Promotions like Rizin, Bellator, and One Championship might also want to fork out heavy cash for the African superstar.
The heavyweight can also potentially move to the boxing industry. Tyson Fury called him out for a match after defeating Dillian White. Earlier Fury made $30million (£22million) from his fight against Deontay Wilder. Francis knows he can make a good sum of money if he moves to the boxing ring too.

Currently, a heavyweight clash against Jon Jones is rumored to be on the line for the heavyweight champ and naturally, he should make good money there too. Whatever Francis decides to do, we hope he makes the right choice.
