The Undertaker’s undefeated WrestleMania streak was broken by none other than the beast incarnate, Brock Lesner. But as time goes on now, the Phenom believes giving Lesner the opportunity was a mistake because Lesner didn’t need it.
In the 30 years of the Deadman’s career, he has always been one of the biggest names in WrestleMania. As the audience began to enjoy his performance, WWE made him a WrestleMania icon. WrestleMania kind of became synonymous with “The Deadman“. His legendary winning streak at WrestleMania also became a part of wrestling folklore.
On that note, it became a huge shock for everyone when Brock Lesner defeated The Undertaker. Suplex City broke Calaway’s winning streak at WrestleMania. At that time, he was okay, although in recent times, he thinks it is his biggest WWE regret because he wanted someone new to break it.

The Undertaker once talked about his feelings toward the decision to end the streak and whether Brock Lesnar was the right person to do it.
Mark added, “I wanted to save it for somebody who needed it. If we were going to break it, I wanted to make sure that it was for the right person. I personally didn’t think Brock needed it. Brock was, you know, Brock. And beating me, I don’t think it was going to elevate Brock that much more. So that was my only kind of question.”
During an interview with another legend, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, on the Broken Skulls Session, The Phenom revealed his thoughts on The Beast incarnate ending the streak.
Although many fans believed it was impossible to break the streak and WWE was always biased against Mark’s winning streak. However, it was still quite unexpected that Lesner will be breaking the streak. Nonetheless, the streak-breaking moment became one of the most memorable moments of WrestleMania in general.
