French striker Kylian Mbappe has been ostracized from the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain squad due to his desire to not sign a new contract after 2024. The ex-Monaco man was brought in by PSG for a record $250 million+ fee in a bid to bolster their chances of winning the elusive UEFA Champions League trophy. However, the trophy has evaded the club, which has been a major stimulant for Mbappe’s growing frustration.
After relaying his decision, the PSG hierarchy has decided to treat Mbappe like an outcast, removing him from Luis Enrique’s pre-season training camp. Fans and player communions are not in favor of PSG’s treatment of the global superstar. The player, in essence, is being lacked the right to choose his future and is being treated wrongly irrespective of his readiness to play for the club.
UNFP threatens PSG over “criminal” treatment of Kylian Mbappe
Kylian Mbappe’s ill-treatment has garnered support from the footballing community as several organizations have stood up to support him. The Union Nationale des Footballers Professionels (UNFP) has released a statement stating that all players deserve the “same working conditions.” The Player Union also stated that they reserve the right to take “civil or criminal” action against Paris Saint-Germain.
The whole statement can be read as follows, “These players – all of them – must enjoy the same working conditions as the rest of the professional workforce. The UNFP feels it would be useful to remind managers that putting pressure on an employee – via the deterioration of their working conditions, for example – to force them to leave or accept what the employer wants constitutes moral harassment, which French law firmly condemns. So, yes, the UNFP reserves the right to take civil and criminal action against any club that behaves in this way.”
Mbappe hinted sitting out the season to sign with Real Madrid next season

Moreover, the player has been offered a one-year contract worth $750 million which will allow the French soccer player to earn a ton of money and make a move to his dream club all within a year. Now, it will be interesting to see how the future of the superstar pans out.
