1. Brimstone
First on this list, Brimstone is a solid pick for everyone, including beginners, due to his easy controls. Coming from the land of the United States, this heavily built guy can stronghold his team with his Sky Smoke. His smoke is the longest-lasting smoke by just planting it in the map and can blindfold the enemies for 19.25 seconds, giving your team an edge to strategize. Brimstone’s ultimate ability, Orbital Strike, is still one of the best in the game. It is used to fire a high-damage strike at a particular location.
2. Omen
Omen is the master of oblivion and specialises in movement, vision blocking and binding. Dark cover, his signature ability, gives you an edge over the enemies. You can spawn smoke bombs within 80 metres, but they last for 15 seconds. It’s less expensive than Brimstone’s Ultimate, but it can be efficient. His ultimate ability, From the Shadows, enables him to teleport to any location on the map, but it can be broken by enemies’ shooting at his smoke.
3. Viper
Originating in America, Viper is the master of all poisons. Her two passives, toxins and fuel, can cause instant damage to the health of other players. Her signature ability is Toxic Screen, which is used to shoot a long line of gas emitters that can be activated at any time. But what amuses the players is her Ultimate Viper’s pit. It is a cloud of toxins that decays enemies when they put a foot in it. This cloud stays as long as the character stays in it.
4. Harbor
Harbor has recently been added to the category of controller. His high tide and cascade are both good for attack and defense. Harbor’s ultimate can be a priceless possession when you want to sneak into an attacker’s occupied site. But with all his abilities, in his kit there are only smokes and no other useful abilities.
5. Astra
Equipping the 5th spot on the list is a master of Cosmos from Ghana. Her astral form is the most unique in the game. She can use all her other abilities after transforming into her astral form. The cosmic divide is her ultimate, which blocks the vision of the enemies and the bullets coming through. But she is not easy to access for beginners and lacks any major abilities that can be useful to the team.
What is the role of Controller agents in Valorant?
Valorant is a 5v5 shooter game that focuses on a unanimous team effort to win any match. Thus, every player on the team is crucial to the game and should be selected wisely.
Among this team, one of the most important of all is a controller. They are agents that use their abilities to manipulate the battlefield and block the enemy’s field view. As a controller, you assist in taking and defending map control with your abilities.
Controllers are used to block off locations with their smoke bombs, limiting the sight of the enemies and thus hampering their movements. This makes them a viable option to choose, considering in any team there needs to be a player who can deviate from the enemies and confuse them.
