The Valorant Initiators Tier List 2024 is a part of our series wherein we rank different agents of the same category in the Valorant roster based on their characteristics, features and shortcomings. This list has been specially curated for you to give you an edge over other gamers and overpower the gameplay alone.
The strongest of Valorant’s four roles is initiator, as they possess Duelist and Sentinel qualities, as well as being the initiators in the game. They help the squad fight by beginning assaults on site and flushing foes from hiding places.
Valorant Initiators tier list 2024
Initiators in Valorant gather information about the enemy’s whereabouts and hit them with a debuff, a concuss, or a decay, decaying their health. Here’s a list of all the Valorant initiators ranked in ‘top to bottom order’.
S Tier:
Sova
Sova is widely regarded as a top choice among players due to their exceptional ability to pinpoint enemy locations on the map. He has a complete set of tools. Utilizing the Recon Dart in conjunction with the Owl Drone allows for effective information gathering.
The Ultimate Hunter’s Fury is known for its unparalleled damage-dealing capabilities, making it an excellent choice for countering Killjoy’s Lockdown Ultimate. Sova’s exceptional abilities make him the top choice for an Initiator in Valorant.
Gekko
With the most unique abilities, including an array of cute creatures that he can pick up after use, Gekko justifies his position in S-Tier. His powers remain unfounded due to his new arrival. The Wingman is liked by all the gamers, although. His abilities can be used twice, except Mosh Pit. The Thrash Ultimate works as a mini-Killjoy Lockdown affecting a large area.
A Tier:
Skye
Skye has been one of the favorites among the competitors who choose initiators due to her assisting potential. Her flashes are easily controllable. The flashing enemy ability regenerates over time. The Skye dog acts like a drone, but it stuns the enemies. Most importantly, her regrowth can heal her teammates, making her the perfect pick.
B Tier:
Fade
She might have similar abilities as Sova, but she is not the best pick. Fade’s Tether and Prowlers (now nerfed) make her a fearless agent. The Haunt detects enemies, and the Seize decays the enemies, and the best is her Ultimate, which takes away the enemies’ hearing and decays their health. However, she can be countered easily with all her abilities.
KAY/O
He is the sole wolf of any team, as his abilities can be useful in one-on-one scenarios. He can delay the site hits easily. His zero-point knife is combined with his flashes and grenade, and the possibilities are endless.
C Tier:
Breach
Due to many counters for the agent and post-nerf effects, he has fallen on the pick list. Moreover, Breach can only be used to apply debuffs and cannot gather any information. But he is still a powerful agent when in good hands.
Why Breach needs a buff in Valorant?
With many new Initiators on the roster, Breach can be deemed a “classic” initiator. True to his name, this Swedish agent has a specialty in breaching walls and other barricades to launch surprise attacks.
After all the agent’s history in many competitions and games in general, people have started to prefer other agents over him. Half of his kit is useless on maps with large, open areas with no walls. His lack of versatility in the meta hasn’t been fruitful; thus, many players have advised giving the agent a buff.
“His flashes are still really good but, in my opinion, Skyes, and Kayos are better because they can be used more aggressively and thrown farther. His aftershock is nice, but Sova and Kayo have better options with their shock darts and fragment being way less situational.” Another reddit comment.
“I was thinking a large reason for this is his lack of information gathering as an initiator. Even Kayo can spot out enemies with his knife. I think a reasonable buff would be if breach lands his concuss ability on an enemy he should have a voice line like Skye and Sova.” A reddit comment.
Thus, the player lacks certain abilities, but with the right buff, the agent can be made again at the top of the pick list.
