Victor Wembanyama is like a raging fire, with a desire to burn bright. He has unreal abilities and unlimited potential. Many people believe that Wembanyama aka “Wemby” is going to be the next big thing in the NBA.
Wembanyama had a great preseason and received lots of love from his fans owing to his impressive performances. His performance impressed not only fans but other NBA players and celebrities as well. One such celebrity is none other than music sensation, Drake.

Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs will be playing their season opener against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday. Wembanyama is expected to perform well in the game just like he did in the preseason. However, if there is one thing that can hamper his game, it’s the Drake Curse.
Wembanyama recently shared photos from his memorable summer which he spent in preparation for his debut. One of the photos showed Wemby hanging out with the rapper Drake. Wemby who is 7-foot-4, looked like a giant with a tiny Drake standing next to him.
Drake is a big fan of basketball and always supports basketball players. He often drops their names in songs or invites them to his concerts as guests. The latter has been something Drake has done very often, bringing out the likes of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Devin Booker, LeBron James and Bronny James, and even Jayson Tatum at various shows he’s done throughout the summer.

Fans on social media reacted to the photo of Wemby and Drake. Some made fun of the height difference while others got worried that Drake could bring his curse to Wemby and the Spurs. The ‘Drake Curse’ continues to haunt many. However, the young Center seems to be such a good prospect that even the Drake Curse might not work on him. Many believe that he will be the face of the league in a few years.
One fan wrote, “This is tripping me out I hate ppl who are giants (crying emoji).”
Another wrote “This wild.”
Another wrote “you know he got the wemby bar locked and loaded in the drafts.”
Every fan had his own opinion regarding the picture, however, one thing that all found funny was the height difference between Wemby and Drake.
Wemby has big dreams and aspirations. He wants to win a championship as early as possible, maybe even while on his rookie contract. Very few players in NBA history can claim to have led a team to a title on a rookie contract, with Dwyane Wade in 2006 being the last example.
