Dalvin Cook, a running back for the Minnesota Vikings, has stated that he wants to remain with the team until the end of his career while the team is keeping all options open for him.
According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, anything is possible at this point because the two parties are still unable to come to an agreement. The Vikings also want to act in their own best interests. However, if the two parties are unable to come to an agreement, it is obvious that Cook should be traded.
“I’m told all options are on the table here and that he could be released closer to the draft if things don’t work out. They had talked to at least one team about a trade in the past closer to free agency, so he is certainly a name to watch,” Fowler said.
The former Vikings had career-highs of 1,557 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns in 2020, in addition to earning back-to-back Pro Bowl invitations in 2019 and 2020. He played with complete dedication as a Vikings star, and by dint of his talent, he has averaged at least 1,000 rushing yards and six total touchdowns over the course of the last four seasons.
What did Dalvin Cook state about his Viking’s future?
Cook, who is among the most productive running backs in Vikings history and has more 1,000-yard seasons than Robert Smith and Adrian Peterson combined, appears to want to end his playing career with the Minnesota Vikings on a high note. According to ML Football, Dalvin is hesitant to be dealt to a different team and end his career as the team’s Hall of Fame farmer.
I’m told 4x Pro Bowl running back Dalvin Cook “absolutely loves Minnesota and expects to finish his career as a Hall of Famer and in Minnesota’s Ring of Honor,” source says.

“Absolutely loves Minnesota and expects to finish his career as a Hall of Famer and in Minnesota’s Ring of Honor,” said a Tweet about the RB.
The Minnesota Vikings selected the running back with the 41st overall pick in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. On September 12, 2020, the star agreed to a five-year contract extension with the Vikings. The extension is valued at $63,000,000, which includes a signing bonus of $15,500,000, a guarantee of $28,125,000, and an average annual salary of $12,600,000.
Over The Cap estimates Minnesota could save $11 million by trading Cook after June 1 and $7.8 million by doing so before the draft. Meanwhile, DC himself already conveyed intent. Now we have to keep our eye on the Vikings as they are now holding the decision-making chair of the trade.
