At Bad Blood 2024, The Rock made his TV comeback for the first time since WrestleMania 40. Fans were super excited, hoping to see him fight Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41 since the Final Boss even hinted at a big family fight called the “Bloodline Civil War.”
Many thought this story would start in the Survivor series. But now, the latest backstage reports might disappoint WWE fans hoping to see this epic match at next year’s WrestleMania.
The Rock’s surprise appearance at Bad Blood, where he confronted Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, sparked rumors of a potential triple-threat match at WrestleMania 41. However, according to the latest reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rock’s busy schedule has made it impossible for him to commit to the event.
So, some WWE insiders were unhappy with his return, as it didn’t lead to a confirmed match. Despite the excitement, it seems The Rock’s outside commitments will keep him from taking part in WrestleMania 41.
What if The Rock doesn’t appear at WrestleMania 41?
It’s obvious that this update is quite disappointing for WWE fans who can’t imagine the company without Roman Reigns and The Rock. The Bloodline has been the most hyped storyline, essentially driving the WWE, while other storylines feel like mere subplots in the Stamford-based promotion. If the highly anticipated Rock vs. Roman match doesn’t happen at WrestleMania 41, there’s bound to be a massive backlash from the fanbase.
However, postponing the match to WrestleMania 42 could give the organization ample time to craft a compelling storyline. Roman could reclaim his championship at next year’s WrestleMania from Rhodes, possibly conquering the Bloodline from Solo Sikoa and The Rock.
Then, The Final Boss could chase the “Head of the Table” title leading into WrestleMania 42. While the wait would be long, if The Rock can’t make it to next year’s main event, this may be the only way to prevent WWE from facing a significant backlash.
