Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are crushing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers right now, but it might be a lot worse if Brett Maher didn’t do his job. Dallas kicker Brett Maher has missed three extra points on three touchdowns, giving him four in a row dating back to the Commanders’ Week 18 setback. Dak Prescott was spotted going crazy on the sidelines shortly before halftime at his latest miss.

On Monday night in Tampa, Dallas Cowboys placekicker Brett Maher had the yips at an unfortunate time. In the last Wildcard Round playoff game against the Buccaneers, the 33-year-old missed an NFL record four point-after attempts in the first three quarters. Prior to Monday, no placekicker had ever missed three PATs in a single playoff game, let alone three in one half, as Maher did in the first two quarters.
The good news for Dallas supporters was that Maher nailed his fifth field goal attempt in the fourth quarter, giving the Cowboys a 31-6 lead moving into the Divisional round against the San Francisco 49ers.
On Monday, following Dallas’ first touchdown of the game with 3:32 left in the first quarter, the Nebraska native missed his first attempt, wide right. He’d miss wide right again in the second before going wide left three minutes before halftime.
Maher reappeared for the second half and nearly connected, but the ball ricocheted against the right upright and fell to the ground. The Cowboys would be allowed to try out placekickers before a Divisional playoff game the following week.
