Rolando Romero was seen limping off with his father following his knock out loss to Gervonta Davis.
Davis vs Romero was one of the highly anticipated boxing matches of the year. Originally scheduled to have taken place last year- on 5th December. The fight was rescheduled after Romero was charged with sexual assault. Gervonta Davis was set to defend his WBA ‘Regular’ Lightweight title against Rolando Romero on May 28th at the Barclays Center in New York.
But things did not go as planned for Romero. After battling hard for the first five rounds, he was brutally knocked out in the sixth round. The KO caused a huge sensation throughout the world. The result, however, was not that surprising to people. Davis, who fought Cruz in place of Romero last December, was the favorite heading into the fight.
After taking the punch, Romero first fell to the ground. He could not beat the referee’s 10-count and get up.
Following the match, Romero was seen being escorted by his father as he was limping.

Romero has called for an immediate rematch following the loss. Whether they run it back remains to be seen, but he will be hoping to recover from this loss as soon as possible.
Gervonta Davis, who is also Floyd Mayweather‘s protégé, will be looking to add to his belt as soon as possible.
