The Brooklyn Nets’ star point guard, Kyrie Irving, was sidelined in last night’s game against the Washington Wizards at Barclays Center.
The Nets were missing their two superstars: Kevin Durant due to his knee injury in the last month and Kyrie Irving due to his unsettling trade request. Though the Nets claimed he was suffering from right calf soreness, the fans were not convinced.
The Nets won the game by a nail-biting two-point difference, propelled by a dominant second-half performance, chasing an 18-point deficit.

Prior to the game, Nets coach Jacque Vaugh was asked about the uncertain future of players in the franchise, and he said that on the business side, he preferred to remain focused on the professional aspect of players. However, he didn’t expect him to be mentally fit for the game.
Previously, Irving submitted a trade request and urged that it be completed before the February 9 deadline. Meanwhile, the Nets will face the Los Angeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns, in which he is not expected to play.
