Watch: UFC fan shows brutal leg damage Jon Jones’s kicks left behind

It has become a growing trend these days for fans to request professional fighters to test their strikes or other moves on them. Although making such a decision alone is not wise, it is even more ridiculous to request Jon Jones to do that, out of any fighter you could have selected.

One such fan suffered grave consequences after requesting Jones to deliver one of his most lethal attacks, the leg kick, at a meet and greet. Considering the aftermath he faced, it would be safe to say that he would not repeat such a mistake ever again in his life.

The enthusiastic UFC fan approached Jon Jones and requested him to throw a leg kick at him. At first, Jones threw a kick that did not appear to be hard, but it still threw the fan slightly off balance. However, the enthusiast wanted even more. He bravely asked Jones to throw another kick even harder than the first time.

As the fighter went at it again with another kick, the fan looked to be in considerable pain. Following a few days post the incident, the fan posted a video of himself in a hospital where he’s seen walking on crutches. Afterwards, he showed the area of his leg where he endured the leg kicks, which became visibly bruised.

The kicks had their true effects on the fan after all the adrenaline wore off. Only two relatively light kicks from a trained killer like Jones were enough to get a regular person on crutches, and thus, it is advised not to make such requests to fighters.

Why did Jon Jones decline UFC 300 fight offer?

Upon the announcement of the landmark UFC 300 event for the company, fans had extreme hopes for the main event, expecting almost a fantasy matchup for the main event. The company approached the reigning heavyweight champion to feature in the event and defend his title against Stipe Miocic in their long awaited clash.

But news emerged of Jones turning down the offer, which he clarified in an interview inside a training facility he was in. He honestly stated how he wasn’t at the condition he needed to be for a fight.

The 36-year-old MMA veteran explained how he wanted to be at peak performance for any event he would partake in, as he wishes to entertain the fans with each of his showings. In the same interview, however, Jones stated how he feels ‘reinvigorated’ to get back in the octagon.

Jones said, “The ball is rolling in a really positive direction for me to continue my career.” He not only expressed his confidence about competing against Miocic but also mentioned how the title unification bout with Tom Aspinall is also on his radar.

It is clear that there are not many performances left in the all-time great, but he wants to make each one count. We should truly appreciate his presence in the sport as long as it is still there.
