It wouldn’t have surprised anyone if Kyrie Irving had not been selected after 2021 given all of his activities, but he will start as a guard for the 2023 All-Star Game. A new kind of team selection mechanism was introduced for the All-Star Game this year. Just prior to tip-off, LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo, the captains, can choose their teams.
However, the Utah audience booed Irving after his introduction to the players before the Team by LeBron who chose him for the #2 spot.

When it comes to Karl Malone, the term “like” is meaningless. Kyrie Irving may not be as likable as he once was due to the things he frequently does and says when he is not playing the game. Even his home fans in Utah sometimes find the things that man did on the court disgusting. They booed Kyrie now, although they cheered for him when he was there to judge the Dunk Contest.
Since he joined Brooklyn, Irving has not been one to shy away from controversy. He missed a lot of the 2020–21 season due to the civil unrest in the country. As he had no of vaccinations, he missed a significant amount of the previous season. He was suspended earlier this season for tweeting an anti-Semitic movie and was unapologetic when he later realized his mistake.
Irving has succeeded with the Nets in terms of statistics, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds. He was named to his eighth All-Star Game.
Kyrie Irving and LeBron James were reunited at last. After James picked Irving with his second selection in the NBA All-Star Game draft on Sunday night in Salt Lake City, the two celebrities and former teammates reunited.
Before Irving was traded by the Nets to the Dallas Mavericks earlier this month, there were rumors that the All-Star guard wanted to go to LA and play with James again, with whom he shared a championship while they were teammates in Cleveland.
The bond between Irving and James hasn’t always been smooth. While playing for the Cavs, the two are said to have occasionally disagreed, and there have been several sub-tweets and instances of trolling of one another.
The scenario has seemed to improve recently, and until the most recent trade, there had been much talk of the two of them getting back together. They’ll have to settle for the All-Star Game, even if none of them had wanted it.
