Watch: Ziaire Williams slam-dunks Grizzlies to victory vs Bucks as Doc Rivers’ struggles continue

Ziaire Williams made his mark against the Bucks with a picture-perfect alley-oop on Thursday. His highlight reel moment quickly went viral, and fans who missed out on the match can now enjoy it repeatedly to their heart’s content.

Williams not only delivered the dunk but also contributed double figures against the under-pressure Bucks. Paired with GG Jackson, the 2021 first-round draft pick ensured that the Ja Morant-less Grizzlies dragged themselves over the finishing line.

Ziaire Williams clutches for Grizzlies with stunning basket

The Memphis Grizzlies won against the Bucks by 113-110 in their last encounter yesterday. Both the forwards Ziaire Williams and GG Jackson scored 27 points. Williams had recorded a career-high 27 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists.

In the fourth quarter with 2:15 minutes left, Williams’ marvelous alley-oop dunk helped the Grizzlies lead with 106 points over Bucks’ 102 points, sending the crowd in attendance into a frenzy. Even Ja Morant couldn’t contain his jubilance, despite being in a shoulder brace following his surgery.

The 22-year-old, happy with the team’s performance, said, “Proud of this team. We’ve been fighting our (tails) off every game. It’s good to see. One man falls down, and another one steps up. We’re just having fun.” In the 46 games he played this season, he has averaged 8.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.

Vince Williams contributed 18 points to the scoreline along with 12 rebounds and 7 assists. The Memphis Grizzlies, 13th in the Western Conference standings, appeared more confident than the 3rd-seeded team in the Eastern Conference standings.

Doc Rivers awful record as Bucks HC

The Milwaukee Bucks look unsteady under their new head coach Doc Rivers. Rivers was announced as the coach this January after the Bucks parted ways with Adrian Griffin. Since then they have lost seven games in the last ten games under him. With their latest loss against Grizzlies, they now have 35-21 win-loss record.

Many experts have already voiced their displeasure over Doc Rivers’ management. One such critic is NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Shaq has criticized the way they are playing as he said, “The way they’re playing right now, they gonna get swept in the first round.”

Stephen A. Smith, who previously warned his good friend, has also chimed in. Analyzing the losses, he said that if Doc Rivers fails to get it organized and does not work on the mistakes then he might not get a job in any other franchise after this.

The Bucks will face Minnesota Timberwolves after the NBA All-Star break on February 24 which will provide them with ample time to get back on track. With Rivers coaching the Eastern Conference team in the NBA All-Star game, he can only hope that some of their luck can be borrowed for the rest of the reason.
