Wayne Rooney bets on Manchester City ahead of EPL 2023/24 season
The previous Premier League season was a rollercoaster ride, with Arsenal leading the table for over 200 days, only to slip at the business end of the season. Manchester City seized the opportunity and made history by becoming the fifth team to win three consecutive Premier League titles. As Arsenal look to prepare for the upcoming season in the United States, Wayne Rooney predicts that Manchester City might clinch their fourth consecutive Premier League title.
During the post-match interview, the Manchester United legend praised Arsenal by saying “I think the signings they’ve made have been really good signings for them to try and kick on and challenge Manchester City.” The Englishman made a bold prediction for the next EPL season, he said “They [City] will be the favorites again to win the Premier League. I think Liverpool will be better next season, Chelsea will be better. Hopefully Manchester United will be better as well!”
Rooney assesses Arsenal’s chances following MLS All-star win
Every year, MLS holds a traditional game where the MLS All-Stars face a different opponent, and this year it was Arsenal. In their first pre-season game, the Gunners cruised past the MLS All-Stars with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Jorginho, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz. Talking about the performance of his team, the former England international said “The result is what it is, Arsenal showed their quality. I thought the All-Star lads looked a bit nervous and hesitant, especially in the first half.”

The Englishman also praised the business done by the Gunners in the summer transfer window by saying “I think Arsenal have made some really good signings and they will compete again.” He added “I like the players Arsenal have signed. They’ve signed players with experience which is important. Players with size as well. I think they’ll do better than last season. They have a really good coach in Mikel Arteta.”
