In a shocking turn of events, Cristiano Ronaldo and his side Al-Nassr lost their top-of-the-table spot to Al-Ittihad as they get narrowly defeated in an away fixture this Thursday. The 5 times Ballon d’Or winner specifically had a struggling night, as he managed to land only one shot at the opponent’s goal.
The home side managed to keep a clean sheet after Romarinho’s goal 10 minutes before the final whistle. As a result, Al-Ittihad is now at top of the table, and Al-Nassr is trailing them by a point.
Since his Al-Nassr debut, the Portuguese superstar has performed exceptionally. He has remained goalless in two straight games, though, and Thursday night was especially underwhelming for him.
How did Cristiano Ronaldo react to the loss?
The Portuguese superstar often loses his temper on the pitch, and Thursday night was no exception. Losing the top spot to title contenders made him visibly angry. As he was walking to the tunnel, he kicked a few water bottles lying at the side of the pitch. A few of his teammates came forward to comfort him.
On top of that, there were constant “Messi” chants from the opposition crowd. Fans have often used this tactic to taunt and frustrate Cristiano Ronaldo, and Thursday night was no exception.

He later reflected on his disappointment in Twitter and thanked Al-Nassr fans for their support. “Thank you Al Nassr fans for your support, we know we can count on you!” he posted along with a group photo of the team talking in a circle on the pitch.
Disappointed with the result, but we stay focused on our season and the games ahead.💪🏼
