Weeks after completing fairytale return to Sevilla, Sergio Ramos’ house burglarized while playing UCL game

The former Paris Saint-Germain defender, Sergio Ramos, recently joined his boyhood club Sevilla. Despite significant wage offers from Saudi Arabia, Ramos chose to return to the club where he started his footballing career. The 37-year-old agreed to a one-season deal and joined as a free agent.

In 2005, Ramos departed from Sevilla to join Real Madrid, where he became one of the most decorated defenders of all time, lifting five Champions League trophies and captaining Los Blancos to title glories. He had previously joined PSG in 2021 before arriving in Spain this summer. Recently, the player and his family faced serious security concerns and were subject to robbery in their own house.

Ramos faces home robbery with children inside

Sergio Ramos, the 37-year-old star, fell victim to a burglary at his residence in the La Alegría estate in Bollullos de la Mitación, where he started to reside with his family following his return to Sevilla F.C.

While the incident was happening, Ramos was playing in the UEFA Champions League fixture against the French club RC Lens at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium on Wednesday, 20th September. The match eventually finished in a 1-1 draw.

Reportedly, during the robbery, Ramos’ four children and their caretakers were in the house. However, his wife Pilar Rubio, who is a journalist and actress, was also not at home as she was out due to some professional commitments.

The burglars fled with all the cash, designer clothing, luxury watches, jewelry, and other high-end valuables from the premises, although no one was harmed during the incident. The robbery has been reported to the police for further investigation.

During the break-in, two intruders entered the house while he was inside with his brother René. Fortunately, the thieves fled the scene without taking anything, and no harm was done.
