Several weeks have passed since Bronny James recovered from a cardiac arrest suffered while training with his college team USC Trojans. Bronny is the eldest child of Lakers legend LeBron James and was named a McDonald’s All-American as a senior in high school in 2023. Now that the 18-year-old has ended his high school career and is playing college basketball for the USC Trojans, the youngster is projected to be one of the top draft picks in the 2024 NBA draft.
It is evident that Bronny James looks to follow his father’s path to fame on the court. With his possible NBA career in context, there are expectations that he will be drafted by the LA Lakers in the near future.
NBA scout foresees Bronny James donning purple and gold
The Los Angeles Lakers may not have a first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. However, an NBA scout mentioned that if they do get a pick in the first round of next year’s draft, they won’t pass on LeBron James’ son, Bronny.
The scout told HoopsHype, “I think Bronny will go in the draft because of who he is, and some team will really think LeBron will come if they draft him. If the Lakers get a pick, they won’t pass on him. He’s a decent player. He reminds me of Austin Rivers as a player, and he’s stayed in the league for over a decade.”
LeBron James, who is 38 years old, was the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. He played for three teams during his 20 seasons in the NBA: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and the LA Lakers. He hopes the Lakers have the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and that Bronny James soon joins him at the Los Angeles Lakers.
