Weeks after stunning win vs Errol Spence, Terence Crawford calls out Jermell Charlo on IG

Terence Crawford has always been a force to be reckoned with. The undefeated Nebraskan fighter has captured the hearts of fans all over the world since his debut match against Brian Cummings. Recently, the bout between Terence and Errol has been the talk of the town after both the fighters went back and forth with their aggressive callouts.

Terence is a Southpaw-style fighter with expert footwork and a rock-solid grasp of the basics. He might not be a hard hitter but as Shawn Porter said in an interview with K.O. Artist Sports, “His (Terence) stuff is going to wear you down”. Porter emphasized how fast Terence is and how his well-timed and accurate punches can wear a boxer down during the course of the rounds

Terence Crawford challenges Jermell Charlo

Crawford has always been a boxer who embraced rivalries. Amidst his fight with Spence, Terence had already spotted Jermell Charlo, the undisputed light middleweight world champion, at the ringside. He did not waste any time in showing his interest in who he wanted to see in the ring with him up next.

In the midst of the fierce fight he was having with Spence, “Bud” reportedly told Jermell that he was next. That rang the starting bell of this rivalry. Recently, the Nebraskan boxer boldly called out the light middleweight world champion in an Instagram post. He proceeded to call Charlo a “little cub” in that post and said that he is now “hunting” him.

How much did Terence Crawford earn for his win over Errol Spence

The clash between both these undefeated welterweights was something highly anticipated for a long time. This was easily one of the most iconic fights after Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao back in 2015. Boxing is a sport of aggressive rivalries and Terence embraces a good rivalry as well. He had also issued warnings for Errol multiple times before this bout as well.

Crawford being the genius he is had already figured out a route to victory by the second round. At the end of the second round, Terence clipped Spence’s jaw and that completely broke Errol’s confidence. It was not a particularly strong punch but “The Truth” lost his balance and fell down, this crushing his mental fortitude.

From there, “Bud” made his way to victory, knocking Errol out in the ninth round. Considering the fight purse, the fight bonus, and PPV, Crawford reportedly walked away with 15 million dollars.

What is your opinion on this matchup? Do you think Terence Crawford will again exceed his limits and put on a spectacular show? Will Jermell Charlo publicly prove that he is the champion for a reason? Make sure to let us know your thoughts below in the comment section.
