The NBA All-Star Game is approaching on February 19, and yet the team can’t ensure their leader Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s participation against Team LeBron in the game.
The Greek freak has been at his peak since his debut for the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013, after being drafted 15th overall in the NBA draft. His ten consecutive top-flight seasons have established him as a future NBA legend. To support the statement, his records will speak for themselves.
However, his destructive demonstration was hindered by an injury in the game against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, which made him unavailable for the All-Star Game.
What is the injury update for Giannis Antetokounmpo?
In the last game’s second quarter, Giannis suffered from a wrist injury that was later diagnosed as a sprained wrist. However, the x-ray came back clean, according to Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer.
“We’ll just see how he feels tomorrow, see how he feels the next few days, and continue to evaluate it,” Budenholzer express his concern. It appears the seven-time all-star is not going to feature in the all-star game; however, if all goes well, Antetokounmpo will come off the bench.
Prior to the injury, he scored on average 31.8 points with 12.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game in 47 appearances this season, which propelled him to the all-star team for the seventh time in a row this season.
“He’s a guy that’s attacking the basket all the time. He’s fearless,” coach Mike added. “He takes a lot of falls so you kind of learn to just expect him to always just bounce back up, and that’s what we’re hoping for from this one.”
on the other hand, the All-Star Game is going to miss several heavyweights, including Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Joel Embiid, etc. If Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to miss the game, who should be the captain in his stead? Share your thoughts in the comments.
