The February update of Clash of Clans is here, bringing a new spell, upgrades to structures, and a fan favorite UI element, among many others. In many ways, this is one of the major updates Supercell has pushed out in recent times.
The update aims to introduce new features while improving the game experience by including a quality of life update on the existing elements. Players can update their Clash of Clan installation right now from the Google Play Store and App Store.
Clash of Clans introduces new overgrowth spell
There is a brand new spell based on Dark Elixir, and it is called Overgrowth. When used on the opponent’s base, your troops will be able to pass the defenses and structures without any resistance. The effect lasts for a limited time based on its level.
Clan Castle and its heroes remain unaffected by its effects. So, troops inside the Clan Castle can still come out from inside, and you need to take them out on your own.
Overgrowth spells can be unlocked in Town Hall 12 with a Level 6 Dark Spell Factory. Right now, the new spell is maxed out at level 4, requiring Town Hall 16.
Details on new Town Hall 16 upgrades
If you are already in Town Hall 16, there are a whole bunch of upgrades for you. The new levels arrive for both troops and defense structures. In addition, the wall structures can be upgraded to 250 now, and you will require Elixir instead of Gold to upgrade the Blacksmith.
Some upgrades for Town Hall 16 include:
Hidden Tesla | Level 15 |
Inferno Tower | Level 10 |
Scattershot | Level 5 |
Seeking Air Mine | Level 6 |
Minion | Level 12 |
Hog Rider | Level 13 |
Bowler | Level 8 |
Baby Dragon | Level 10 |
Siege Barracks | Level 5 |
Log Launcher | Level 5 |
Electro Owl | Levels 11-15 |
Hog Riders also get new Hero equipment with the update. You can equip a doll and Haste Vial to the champion, giving you the ability to call other Hog Riders or increase damage for a few seconds. Your blacksmith should be at Level 7 to unlock these items.
Apart from this, the clan chat finally gets a redesign. Players can send emojis now from the chat window, and Supercell has made UI improvements to make chatting more interactive.
Last but not least, Progress Bars are back. Players can now view the maximum possible upgrade for a particular structure at a Town Hall level. This feature was widely requested on social media and made a celebrated comeback. There are numerous balanced changes to improve the quality of gameplay and quality updates, which you can check out here.
