The family members said, according to a report from Legion Hoops in X that Kimberly “passed away unexpectedly.” The cause of her death is yet to be known.
Hence, a further report from TMZ Sports, Catherine who is Kimberly’s sister, in a statement last week said: “I lost my big sister Kimberly Abbott Van Gundy on Wednesday,’ Kimberly’s sister. She was one of my favorite people and I will forever miss her. Rest in peace, Kim.”

Stan Van Gundy met Kimberly Van Gundy when he was the head coach of the men’s basketball team at Castleton State College in Vermont back in 1984. That was when Kimberly was working in the admissions office. The couple tied the knot in the year 1998 and they even celebrated their marriage anniversary earlier this year.
