The preseason games have been very hard on the roster of the Carolina Panthers. The two top wide receivers of the team, Terrace Marshall Jr. and Laviska Shenaul have been sidelined because of injuries. Unfortunately, that’s not it, another important player on the team DJ Chark has also been injured.
Now that the three top wide receivers of the Carolina Panthers are injured the team is going to face trouble in the regular season that is a few weeks away.
What injury has sidelined DJ Chark?
DJ Chark missed the Wednesday practice session, and it was reported that he is suffering from a minor hamstring injury.
Chark was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018 and spent four years with the team. He made a record of making 73 interceptions for 1,008 yards and 8 touchdowns in 15 games that he played. Last season, he signed a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions but couldn’t recapture that, making three touchdowns only.
With the Panthers, everyone had a lot of expectations from him especially after the other two top wide receivers of the team got injured. But this sudden news of missing the practice sounds ominous.
The coach of the team Frank Reich gave no clear answer about this situation.
“I don’t want to sound glib about anything but I’ve just been involved in enough games that you have a ding here, a ding there.”
He shared that he’s not going to overreact and first find out the severity of his injury.
“I don’t overreact to something. First, I’ve got to find out what’s the severity of it. Or, if a guy gets something, exactly where are we at on that? I just don’t overreact to those things.”
As the coach didn’t clarify the matter it is suspected that the injury is serious, and it might lead the Panthers to lose another wide receiver this season.
Update on when DJ Chark makes his NFL return
No one gave a clear update about the injury of DJ Chark. Even the coach declined to give any update. Since the team hasn’t updated, we don’t know how badly the wide receiver is injured or how long he’ll take to recover and make his NFL return.
But the NFL Network’s report said that “Doesn’t sound great.” It means that the injury of the wide receiver is severe. Let’s wait for the official announcements to find out whether he’ll be able to continue in the regular season or not.

Chark has an extensive injury history. When he was with the Jaguars, he was never able to play all 16 games in a season because of recurring health issues. In 2021, he fractured his ankle and in 2022, he had continued ankle issues.
This time he’s not suffering from an ankle injury but a hamstring injury. We hope the wide receiver recovers soon and comes back stronger on the field.
