Discipline lies at the core of any sport of the world; therefore, every sport consists of some rules and regulations that keep its process ongoing smoothly. And such is the case for NBA as well which has its own established set of rules and player’s media availability is prominent among them. So, let’s find out more about media availability in NBA exploring Jimmy Butler incident.
Why Jimmy Butler slapped with $25K fine by NBA?
Jimmy Butler is a prominent basketball player who plays for Miami Heat. Lately, the NBA authority fined him $25k for violating the media availability policy of the NBA. According to the policy, NBA players have to remain available after games and sit in the hot interview seat to answer questions from the press and media.
On Sunday night’s Game 3, Miami Heat chopped down Boston Celtics in a 128-102 win. Moreover, Jimmy’s performance was also very impressive who scored 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. However, the player was absent in the post-game interviews.
He also couldn’t show any concrete reasons behind not showing up during the media presence of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 21. As a consequence, he has been fined $25k for breaking NBA laws and has to pay the amount to the authority.
