Dominik Mysterio, Rhea Ripley, Finn Balor, and Damian Priest look their best on the Judgment Day. They’ve been causing chaos in WWE and it came as a surprise to everyone when Dirty Dominik was stripped of the NXT North American Championship at NXT No Mercy. Mysterio had defended the North American NXT title for 70 days, facing off against Dragon Lee in a dramatic championship contest.
Unfortunately, he was unable to defend his WWE championship on the most recent edition of WWE No Mercy. This was the first time a member of The Judgment Day had ever been defeated for a championship, which shocked every member of the crew.
Dominik Mysterio to cost Judgment Day member a massive WWE RAW bout?
NXT No Mercy was supposed to pit Dirty Dom against Mustafa Ali for the NXT North American Championship. The original arrangement fell through when Ali was released from WWE. As a late substitute, Trick Williams stunned Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day by defeating him.
The fight was not devoid of highlights on Dominik Mysterio’s part where he successfully executed a 619 move, leaving Williams on the backfoot. Mysterio’s performance, however, declined as the battle went on. In addition to botching the frog splash, he super-kicked the guest referee ‘Dragon Lee’ accidentally. Ultimately, Williams was able to capitalize and beat Mysterio, therefore claiming the championship.
Dominik’s confidence being shaken by the defeat might be problematic for The Judgment Day on the next episode of WWE RAW. The 26-year-old wrestler’s feelings may have an unintended impact on the red brand match between Damian Priest and Jey Uso. Recent tensions have been building between Priest and Uso, and their showdown could be influenced by the aftermath of Dominik’s title loss.
JD McDonagh seemingly takes jab at Judgment Day
On recent episodes of Monday Night RAW, JD McDonagh has often intervened when one of The Judgment Day was in danger. However, at NXT No Mercy, he was nowhere to be found when Dominik called for assistance. In May, despite speculation that he might join The Judgment Day, JD was called up to Raw from NXT.
On the August 7 edition of Raw, JD had a major part after his reappearance during the SummerSlam Battle Royal. He sided with Finn Balor and claimed that the group’s issues were due to Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank contract.
In a social media post, Jordan poked fun at The Judgment Day by saying the group never loses when he’s there and that Dominik could have kept his title if he’d only phoned. He tweeted, “Judgment Day don’t lose when I have to get involved. Dom should have given me a call, I guarantee he’d still be Champ right now. But what do I know?”
