As chapter 5 of season 1 ends in Fortnite, it’s time to look forward to the next season. Season 1 was particularly fun; we got a new map: The Underground, Peter Griffin as one of five new bosses, brand new skins, and plenty of loot.
Thanks to Twitter, we now have a peek into what we can expect from season 2. A mysterious new character is set to arrive, which will have major implications for the Fortnite story going forward.
When does season 2 of Fortnite’s chapter 5 premiere?
Fortnite’s current season is set to conclude on March 7, 2024. We expect the next season to start the very next day. But considering Fortnite’s tradition, there always seems to be a break (a few hours) before the next season starts.
Back in December, we witnessed The Big Bang event, which showcased the different maps Season 5 is set to feature. Epic Games has not revealed the story of where the next season is headed, but leaks have confirmed it will feature Greek mythology heavily.
The Ruined Reels POI featured Greek mythology-inspired ruins that set up the arrival of Greek gods in the Omniverse. One boss is reported to have lightning powers, which further confirms this. Plus, the leaked skins feature some known mythological characters.
A pandora’s box is also set to arrive in Fortnite. You can already see a hand emerging from the ground near the Ruined Reels. It is not yet revealed what it belongs to. We will likely know more as the character emerges next season, but it is likely connected to the story.

The season 2 skins will feature Greek gods. We have already seen skins featuring Zeus, Ares, Poseidon, Athena, and Hemes. Fortnite will also reward the Ranked players with the Odyssey skin. There will also be legacy iterations available to unlock as you win matches and level up.
Odyssey currently features as an NPC in the Runied Reels. She is rumored to be featured heavily in the next season as part of the lore. Right now, she can be heard uttering, ‘I can feel an ancient power growing inside this island’. Maybe she can sense the arrival of evil forces, which will be part of Greek mythology.
The next crew pack also features a new addition to Meowscle’s family. Plus, there are reports of Avatar and Fall Guys arriving in Fortnite as mini-games.
