Roman Reigns, The Leader of the Bloodline, has made it clear that his reign as the greatest champion in WWE is a result of his strength and power. Reigns’ ongoing tenure of 1,202 days as Universal Champion is the longest since 1988.
The Tribal Chief is among the five individuals who have held the championship for the longest duration. It has been years since the superstar lost any match by pinfall against fellow wrestlers in WWE.
When was the last time Roman Reigns pinned in a singles match?
Roman Reigns has been the top dog of WWE for over four years now. His streak as the Undisputed Universal Champion as well as the time he was last pinned, has made the fans more excited for the future aspects of the Head of the Table.
The Tribal Chief has remained undefeated since 2019, and the last time the 38-year-old was pinned or submitted in a singles match was against Baron Corbin. The faction leader’s most recent loss occurred in a match against Baron Corbin at the TLC 2019 Premium Live Event. To put this in perspective, it has been 1,294 days since Reigns has lost a match by pinfall.
During a recent interview, Baron Corbin, the former Money in the Bank winner, addressed his desire to face Roman Reigns again if the fans really demand the match.
“Sometimes, I want that anarchy, that mayhem, that madness. You know what, if people start loving what I do and really get behind it, I could be the guy to go against Roman Reigns because he needs a guy like that. It’d be a fun switch,” said Baron.
The superstar continued by adding, “The last time I worked with Roman, I was pouring dog food on him. Not a fun time for him. I also almost vomited with the dog food. But it would be a flip. He’s killing it right now, but if people get behind me, it would almost feel, and here’s why I like it, it’s fresh. It feels new.”
Roman Reigns set for WWE SmackDown return
Reigns was last seen at Crown Jewel Premium Live Event on November as The Tribal Chief defended the Undisputed Universal Champion against LA Knight. During the match Knight kicked out of a spear from Roman but unfortunately lost only after outside interference from the Bloodline members, although both superstars performed well, Knight was the one with the overall better performance.
Things in SmackDown are not the same since Roman’s absence, superstars like Randy Orton and CM Punk are back. Among them The Viper has a personal vendetta against the Bloodline. The master of RKO has made it clear that he is coming for the Head of the Table.
Roman Reigns will also have to prepare as the Royal Rumble is just around the corner and he has to be ready to navigate his Road to WrestleMania. With things as they are now will likely get tough for the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
