Bray Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, died unexpectedly of a heart attack on Thursday, August 24, at the age of 36. Fans were left devastated by the news as Bray Wyatt was at the peak of his career at that time.
Wyatt’s alter ego was scary but in real life Bray Wyatt was the nicest and sweetest guy. Rotunda once did a voice acting role, which was his only acting performance outside of his WWE persona.
Bray Wyatt’s last performance
The late wrestler had a surprise role in a new Disney+ film, playing a prison guard months before his tragic death. A clip shared by Fightful’s Jeremy Lambert drew praise from Jeff Kinney, the book series’ writer, commending Rotunda’s undeniable talents and charisma.
Jeff Kinney said, “‘Bray came in the studio and absolutely nailed the part. So talented and such a huge personality, He blew us away. We feel lucky we got to work with him.”

When was Wyatt’s last match?
Bray Wyatt had a great run in WWE, becoming a three-time world champion, including the WWE Championship once and the Universal Championship twice. Throughout his WWE career, Wyatt made a name for himself with his eerie storytelling, unique promos and memorable feuds with other WWE Superstars.
Windham’s character during the Wyatt family era was what rose him to fame. He took a brief break from August 2018 to April 2019 and returned with a new alter-ego, The Fiend. His new character was even more scary and disturbing than his previous persona.
Wyatt’s final match was on Texas in January 2023 at the Royal Rumble. The match was a Pitch Black match and was sponsored by Mountain Dew. Wyatt faced against The Megastar LA Knight, during the match, both clashed while wearing black light-sensitive ring gear to match the theme.
During the WWE Royal Rumble 2023 press conference, he shared his opinion about the wrestling industry and himself as a wrestler, “It’s a sport to some and a show to others but I think the beautiful thing about wrestling, this industry, is that there’s something for everyone and I’ve always kind of prided myself on the fact that I’ve been willing to take risks and do things that no one’s ever done, because, in my opinion, if you’re not willing to do that, what are you doing here?”
Although Bray Wyatt has left this world, there is no doubt that his legacy will live on for a long time. Fans still share his iconic moments on social media and reminisce at his performance.
