Manchester United has a well-deserved record for having a successful transfer market skill by recruiting highly sought-after players beneath the radar and with little fanfare, the Bavarians have played true to that reputation by adding Brazilian international striker Antony to their ranks.
Despite being a top target for a lot of teams, Antony contract details are revealing that the Brazilian was a prominent player in his Ajax career and so let’s dig deep to know more about him.
Who is Antony?
It took just under 10 years for a branch of Brazil’s most successful squad to reach out to the metropolis of Sao Paulo and, Antony officially joined the Sao Paulo youth set up in 2010, just before his tenth birthday.
In his book, he describes his early training in the juvenile system and he had been on the edge of being released three times before. Unlike most young stars, Antony did not make his first team debut until he was 18 years old. This happened in late 2018 with Ajax.
Antony did not have to look back after debuting for Ajax as he continued to shine like a bright diamond in the Eredivisie under Eric Ten Hag’s strict supervision, which led him to today’s Old Trafford.
How much did Antony cost?
The Brazilian winger Antony was seen refusing to play for Ajax Amsterdam for the last couple of days since the beginning of the new Eredivisie season with a view to a dream move to Manchester United to reunite with former manager Eric Ten Hag.
The firmness of the Brazilian attracted the United board to sign this talented soccer sensation with a staggering fee of €100m for multiple years of contract.

Antony Man Utd contract details
Manchester United pushed Ajax Amsterdam to complete the deal for Antony in recent weeks, but the Dutch club’s sporting council turned down multiple bids from the Premier League giant until they received the ultimate whooping offer of about an undeniable price.
According to Fabrizio Romano, “Antony to Manchester United, here we go! Agreement in principle with Ajax, €100m fee. Contract until June 2027 with option until 2028. To be signed tomorrow.”
What does he add to Man Utd?
Antony can play in a 4-2-3-1 formation, as his high-energy approach makes him an excellent box-to-box or defensive winger and his ability to move out of tight places and pick out passes will also allow him to play as a playmaker in the number 10 position.
Despite risking a key role in Brazil’s World Cup squad, this lethal player may make an instant impact in the Red Devil squad by running alongside Elanga and others.
What does this signing mean for other Man Utd Players?
Manchester United has the privilege of fielding one of the world’s most star-studded squads and they will, however, have to make space for this Brazilian star.
Paul Pogba has already departed the club after his contract ended, while Anthony Martial and McTominay may find themselves on the bench. Youngsters or academy players who appeared in cameo appearances for the main team last season might be loaned away as well.
Antony’s stats for club & country
Antony, 22, is a young player compared to Firmino and Neymar Jr, but his envious record with clubs like Sao Paolo and Ajax is astonishing, and after just 134 matches at club level, he managed to score 31 goals as of today.
Apart from professional clubs, Antony’s record for the Brazil National Team is still pretty naive as he grabbed just 2 goals in 9 international matches.
