Aljamain Sterling is an American mixed martial artist who is currently showcasing his mastery in the Bantamweight division of the UFC as the current champion in that division. The Jamaican had his first UFC bout in the year 2014 and since then he has dominated many formidable opponents.

Where did Aljamain Sterling grow up?
The word ‘Traumatic’ suits pretty much perfectly when talking about Aljmain Sterling’s childhood. His days especially those of with his father still make him upset whenever he recalls the past.
The Funk Master hails from Uniondale, New York where he grew up in a large family consisting of seven full and six half-siblings. It was very difficult to enjoy a moment of peace in such a large family and he did his best to help his mother to maintain the household.
Sterling would often comfort his mother by providing her a helping hand and doing everyday household chores or by taking his younger siblings to school.
However, in the already messed up abode, his father was like unwanted trouble who would often engage in committing domestic violence. Beating and abusing the Bantamweight champion’s mother was a daily routine for his father.
The MMA still gets nightmares recalling the days when he experienced his mother crying out loud for the pain that her husband caused her. And then as a ray of hope, wrestling entered his life in 2004 when he was in high school. Later Sterling’s penchant for wrestling paved the way for MMA and he became a star within a short career span.
This reigning Bantamweight champion recently locked horns with Henry Cejudo, the Triple C in UFC 288, and defended his current title once again proving more of his worth.
