Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier have had one of the most heated and intense rivalry in the UFC. The two have fought twice and Jones has emerged victor in both. The first fight at UFC 182 resulted in Jon defending his title against Daniel Cormier.
In the second fight at UFC 214, Jones again emerged as the victor but the fight was ruled as no contest because of Jones testing positive for banned substances. Unsurprisingly, the light heavyweight champion wishes to wipe off the UFC 214 no-contest from his record.
Reason behind Jones’ NC wipe off demand
In a recent twitter post, Jon Jones expressed that he isn’t sad that the UFC and USADA are parting ways. Jones and USADA have a strained relationship, mainly due to Jones testing positive multiple times for banned substances. At UFC 214, Jon Jones fought and defeated his long-term rival, Daniel Cormier.
However, Jones tested positive for banned substances, leading to the fight result being changed to a no contest. Jones is determined to have the no contest removed from his record.
Man I survived USADA. First they said I was guilty of having picograms, then they considered me innocent, next picograms became legal. Guess what I’m still here, still unbeaten. That BS no contest over DC needs to be taken off my record. I’ve never cheated this sport and I will…

In his recent twitter post, Jones demands that the no contest be wiped off because Jones claims to have never cheated. Jones further went on to say that he will abide by this till the very end.
Cormier reacts to Jon Jones demand
Daniel Cormier caught wind of Jones’s demand and sent a strong message to his former rival. The former UFC double champion and current commentator criticized Jones’ attempt to alter the sport’s history. Cormier also explained why he and Jones would never be able to find common ground.
“People will try to rewrite history. You can’t rewrite history,”

In a recent feature on Ben Askren’s podcast, Daniel Cormier addressed the post made by Jones on Twitter. DC said “People will try to rewrite history. You can’t rewrite history.”
Cormier then explained why he will never be able to see eye-to-eye with Jones. The UFC hall of famer disagreed to believe the claims by Jones to be true. He continued to tell the reason why Jon Jones and himself cannot ever come to a common ground.

The UFC hall of famer doesn’t believe that Jones was innocent in all of those incidents despite the GOAT himself claiming his innocence. Tell us in the comments whether think Jon Jones was innocent despite of what the tests showed?
